RESEARCH FOCUS

A clearer measure of the work.

Current workforce benchmarks do not fully account for the differences between ACS coverage models. S1 is intended to establish a more useful foundation for comparing that work.

CLINICAL COVERAGE

Compare ACS work more accurately

Examine how the structure and intensity of clinical coverage vary across acute care surgery programs.

ANNUAL BURDEN

Understand the full clinical year

Study how different coverage obligations accumulate across surgeons, divisions, and practice models.

WORKFORCE

Build a stronger evidence base

Create reliable data to inform future work on staffing, clinical FTE, sustainability, and compensation.
